1. Product Overview
G3 and G4 primary air filters are commonly used primary filtration devices in air purification systems. The gravimetric efficiency of G3 filters is generally 85%, while that of G4 filters is 95%. They are usually used as pre-filters in air conditioning and ventilation systems, or as pre-filtration for high-efficiency filters, to protect the intermediate and high-efficiency filters at the back end and extend their service life.
2. Structural Features
Frame Material: Galvanized steel frames have good corrosion resistance and relatively low cost; aluminum frames are light in weight, durable, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to install and disassemble. Both materials can provide good structural support to ensure that the filter does not deform during use.
Filter Media: Common filter media include non-woven fabrics, polyester synthetic fibers, glass fibers, etc. These media have a fluffy and gradually dense fiber structure—fluffy on the air inlet side and compact on the air outlet side— which can ensure filtration efficiency while providing a large dust-holding capacity.
Flat Panel Type with Single-Side Mesh Cover: Adopting a flat panel structure, the filter media is folded and installed into the frame, which increases the air-facing area and thus reduces resistance. The single-side mesh cover is usually a plastic-sprayed wire mesh or galvanized wire mesh added to the air outlet side, used to fix and protect the filter media and prevent it from deforming or being damaged under the impact of air flow.
3. Technical Parameters
Rated Air Volume: The rated air volume varies with different specifications of filters. For example, the G3 filter with dimensions of 595mm×595mm×46mm has a rated air volume of 3200m³/h; the G3 filter with dimensions of 495mm×595mm×46mm has a rated air volume of 2700m³/h.
Initial Resistance: The initial resistance of G3 filters is generally 30Pa, and that of G4 filters is generally 40Pa.
Final Resistance: The recommended final resistance is generally 200Pa, and the maximum final resistance is 250Pa.
Operating Temperature: The usual operating temperature range is -10℃ to 100℃.
4. Application Scenarios
Central Air Conditioning Systems: Used for pre-filtration in fresh air units and centralized ventilation systems, it can remove large particulate pollutants such as dust and hair in the air, protect the internal cleanliness of the air conditioning system, and reduce energy consumption.
Industrial Field: Suitable for pre-filtration systems of painting systems, air compressors and gas turbines, as well as pre-filtration of centralized ventilation systems in general industrial workshops or clean rooms.
Commercial and Public Buildings: Such as ventilation systems in office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, airports and other places, it can provide clean air indoors and improve air quality.
5. Maintenance
Replacement Cycle: Depending on the cleanliness of the environment, primary air filters generally need to be replaced every 1 to 6 months.
Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly use a particle counter to measure the cleanliness of the purification area. When the actual cleanliness does not meet the requirements, check whether the filter is invalid. If it is invalid, it needs to be replaced in time. The filter should be replaced when the machine is shut down.
